These Are the Best—and Worst—Grocery and Kitchen Deals at Target

Target is a wonderland for us multitaskers who like to stock up on groceries, home goods, gifts, clothes and festive $1 items all in one place. We've recently become bigger fans of Target for grocery shopping, as their new Good & Gather line has all kinds of healthy and delicious snacks and staples at great prices. We did some research to find which grocery and kitchen deals are worth going to Target for—and which deals are worth finding somewhere else.

The Best Grocery and Kitchen Deals at Target

Good & Gather Brand Snacks and Beverages

We were lucky enough to test out a variety of products from Target's new Good & Gather line last year, and many of these products have become mainstays on our grocery lists. All of the products in this line are free from artificial flavors, synthetic colors, artificial sweeteners and high fructose corn syrup. Most are also low in (or free from) added sugars.

Good & Gather sparkling water is absolutely delicious and costs nearly $1 less than LaCroix per case. This line also has great dupes for some of our favorite healthy snacks like Lara Bars, Purely Elizabeth probioitic granola and more—and Target's versions are a fraction of the price. And don't miss out on the nut butters—you can find 16-ounce jars of Good & Gather natural peanut butter for just $1.99.

Boxed Wine

Wine Cube is another Target exclusive that you shouldn't miss out on. Offered in 14 varieties, these boxed wines are totally drinkable and cost just $18 for a 3-liter box. That adds up to just $4.50 per bottle! We are big fans of the rosé, but it's worth checking out the other 13 varieties for your next night in.

Non-Toxic Cleaning Products

Looking for non-toxic cleaning products that won't break the bank? Target has you covered. Everspring, Target's new natural cleaning line is both eco- and budget-friendly. A bottle of Everspring All-Purpose Cleaner is $1 cheaper than Seventh Generation and Mrs. Meyer's and still gives great results. Plus, the scents are amazing—one of our editors is obsessed with the Lavender & Bergamot cleaning products that make her house smell amazing.

Maple Syrup

Brierley Horton, M.S., R.D., previously told us that she always stocks up on maple syrup during her Target runs. Archer Farms, one of Target's private labels, sells 32-ounce bottles of grade A 100% pure maple syrup for just $14.49. The Worst Grocery and Kitchen Deals at Target

Coffee

Coffee connoisseurs should steer clear from Target's private-label coffee. Market Pantry Classic Roast scored 25th out of 26 in a ground coffee taste test conducted by Consumer Reports. If you're looking for a budget-friendly ground coffee that is still tasty, try Eight O'Clock Coffee, which costs less than $4 for a 12-ounce bag. One of our editors loves this option and finds it's often BOGO at Target.

Small Kitchen Appliances

You'd think that Target would be a great place to find kitchen gadgets at a low price, but that's not always the case. The same 1000-watt Ninja Blender is actually $20 cheaper on Amazon than at Target. The same goes for the 7-quart Vortex Air Fryer.

Fresh Produce

Target was one of the few major grocery stores to see an increase in customer satisfaction during the last year, but their produce section still has a long way to go. The company landed at the bottom of the pack with Walmart and Grocery Outlet for worst produce quality in a Consumer Reports survey last year. Our staff has also found the produce sections to be very limited in some stores—and many options are only offered wrapped in single-use packaging.

Trash Bags

Saving a buck buying the generic brand just isn't worth it when shopping at Target—especially if you have trash duty. Kyle James of Rather-be-Shopping, a coupon and deals website, told GoBankingRates.com that the small savings you get from buying Target's Up & Up trash bags loses its value when your trash ends up on the kitchen floor. He advises opting for the Glad Tall Kitchen Drawstring Bags, which are just a $1 more than the generic option.
