Experience

Brierley Horton, M.S., RD, is a dietitian nutritionist, content creator and strategist, and avid mental health advocate. She is co-host and co-creator of the Happy Eating podcast, which breaks down the connection between food and mental wellness.

She served as food & nutrition director for Cooking Light magazine and was the nutrition editor at EatingWell magazine for nearly a decade. Her work regularly appears in Better Homes & Gardens, EatingWell, Livestrong and the Kitchn, among others.

Brierley is a registered dietitian nutritionist with a master's degree in nutrition communications. Her graduate degree is from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Prior to going back to school, she completed a dietetic internship with Aramark in Philadelphia and then sat for her registered dietitian board exam. She completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Vermont, double majoring in dietetics and nutrition & food science.

She is a winner of multiple James Beard Foundation journalism awards and was recognized by the American Society of Journalists and Authors for an Outstanding Article Award.

In April 2021, Brierley launched the Happy Eating podcast with Carolyn Williams, Ph.D., RD. A weekly podcast that Brierley and Carolyn co-host, Happy Eating breaks down the connection between food and mental wellness.
