Experience

Jasmine Smith is a recipe developer and tester for Dotdash Meredith. She is also a writer whose work has appeared in Southern Living, EatingWell, RealSimple, Food & Wine Magazine, MyRecipes and Health.

Jasmine graduated with a B.A. in culinary nutrition with a dual concentration in food science and clinical dietetics. Her education has provided her with many opportunities to work with celebrity chefs, study abroad in the Mediterranean region and cook in distinguished restaurants across America.

Following college, Jasmine worked on the line at multiple farm-to-table restaurants and was selected for the James Beard Foundation's Women in Culinary Leadership Program. In addition to working in test kitchens, Jasmine is a freelance culinary producer for a variety of food festivals and nonprofits.

In 2017, Jasmine served a lead line cook at two prestigious restaurants in Chicago, mastering a variety of cuisines and techniques. Aside from working in the restaurant industry, Jasmine was part of the culinary team for the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, where she gained part-time opportunities to freelance for Carla Hall and Stephanie Izard of Top Chef fame. This route led her to her dream job as a recipe tester and developer for Dotdash Meredith, where she now develops and tests recipes.
