Experience

Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Kayleigh received her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While there, she worked in student media, both as a features editor for the Kaleidoscope newspaper and as a DJ on the campus’ online radio station.

Kayleigh joined Dotdash Meredith in 2019 as an associate producer on the video team, where she primarily worked with food brands such as EatingWell, Allrecipes and MyRecipes. In her current role, she writes, edits and updates commerce content for EatingWell, and she has previously written and edited food and beverage subscription-related content for multiple brands across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio, including Food & Wine, The Spruce Eats, Verywell Fit and Simply Recipes.

Prior to her media career, Kayleigh worked for several years as a full-time baker at a local restaurant/bakery. While she primarily made bread, including focaccia, pain de mie, baguette, sourdough, brioche and ciabatta, she also made plenty of cookies, biscuits, pies, bread puddings and other delicious baked goods.

When she’s not performing her editorial duties, Kayleigh enjoys listening to music, taking brisk walks, record shopping, playing the guitar and collecting plants. She's also a big fan of spicy foods, seafood and literally anything pickled.
