This is our go-to recipe for homemade cranberry sauce. It's simple (just five ingredients!), is lightly sweet without being too sugary and has just the right amount of zesty flavor from orange peel. Plus, it's so easy--it goes from stove to table in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) bag fresh cranberries

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 2 1-by-4-inch strips orange peel

  • Pinch of kosher salt

Directions

  1. Place cranberries, water, sugar, orange peel and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook, stirring often, until most of the cranberries have burst, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the orange peel. Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Tips

To make ahead: Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
