We love a good slider—on game day, at a party, or just for dinner, and these pizza sliders just might be our new favorites. They have all of the flavors of one of our other favorite treats: pizza. Ready in under 45 minutes, they're quick and easy to make.

What You'll Need To Make Pizza Sliders

The ingredients for pizza sliders are all easy to find. Grab these things from the pantry and fridge:

  • Hawaiian sweet rolls: We call for the classic Hawaiian sweet rolls in this recipe, but you can use other rolls that are the same size if you prefer a different flavor.
  • Melted unsalted butter: The base for a garlic butter topping for the rolls.
  • Minced fresh garlic: We give a range for the garlic amount; if your crowd prefers stronger garlicky flavor, use both garlic cloves.
  • Onion powder: Adds extra savory depth to the garlic butter.
  • Dried Italian seasoning: Intensifies that classic pizza flavor.
  • Grated Parmesan cheese: Gives the garlic butter extra salty, cheesy flavor.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese and provolone slices: We like using a blend of cheeses to make sure every slider has plenty of melty cheese.
  • Pepperoni: A classic pizza topping; you can substitute cooked sausage or sauteed vegetables like peppers or mushrooms.
  • Pizza sauce: A small amount of the pizza sauce is spread on the rolls, and the rest is served with the rolls for dipping.
  • Minced fresh parsley: Adds a fresh flavor and pretty topping to the sliders.

How To Make Pizza Sliders

These pizza sliders are easy and quick—so easy, in fact, kids could definitely help put these together. Here's a brief outline of the process. (The full recipe is further below.)

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven and prepare the baking dish. If you don’t have an 11- x 7-inch baking dish, a 13- x 9-inch dish will work.
  • Step 2: Carefully cut the rolls in half, without separating the rolls from one another.
  • Step 3: Prepare the garlic butter mixture. Spread a small amount on the rolls and save the rest for the topping.
  • Step 4: Add the cheese, pepperoni, and sauce to the rolls.
  • Step 5: Pour the remaining garlic butter over the tops of the rolls, then cover and bake until heated through. Uncover and bake a few minutes longer until lightly browned. Serve with pizza sauce!

Variations and Topping Ideas

We kept these pizza sliders classic with cheese and pepperoni, but you can pick your favorite pizza toppings and turn them into sliders.

  • Swap meats: Instead of pepperoni, use cooked Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, or ground beef.
  • Add veggies: Make a supreme pizza-style slider with cooked onions, peppers, and black olives, in addition to the pepperoni and cheese.
  • Copy a pizza favorite: Have a pizza flavor combo you like? Ham and pineapple, perhaps? Use this recipe as a base for riffing and making it your own.
