Made exactly as written except added a red pepper and a can of kidney beans. I loved the flavor and got great reviews from friends. Nice amount of heat but I may kick it up next time with a jalapeño
I think it is a typo in step 2. add tomatoes, beer (not beef) because the beef is already in the pan.
Foodie, this reply is way late, but there's a typo in Step 2; when it says "Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef, and Worcestershire...." the word beef should have been BEER.
That's obviously a typo....it should state, "Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, BEER, and Worcestershire". The beef is already in there, so you wouldn't add it again.
I was wondering the same thing I guess add at the end with the rest of the ingredients.
The recipe does not say when to add the beer ! ?????
Excellent chili! I added 1 15 oz can pinto beans & 1 15 oz can black beans (both rinsed). I didn't have fire roasted tomatoes, so I used RO-TEL diced tomatoes & green chilis. I also didn't have the amount of steak needed, but next time I will. Also didn't have the beer listed so I used a Sam Adams lager. Really, really delicious!
