Walmart Is Adding a Beloved Fast Food Option to Stores

Walmart has been all about giving us new fast-food options. Between adding its first-ever Wonder Food Hall and bringing in Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar in select stores, this retail giant is giving us plenty of ways to eat well while on the go. 

Now, Walmart is adding yet another tasty food option to the list. This time, it serves up our favorite comfort food to enjoy while we make a Walmart run. 

Mr Gatti's Pizza Is Coming to Walmart

Mr Gatti's Pizza, a pizza buffet chain, will soon offer its saucy pies inside Walmart. Set to open later this year, 92 Walmart stores in the southern part of the country, specifically in Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, will enjoy grabbing a pizza between shopping sprees or taking it home. There will be 12 locations to start, but the long-term plan is to establish 92 outlets across the four states with the possibility of nationwide expansion. 

The pizza shops located in Walmart will offer counter service and dine-in seating. There will also be the option of ordering your meal through Mr Gatti's app to pick it up at your convenience. Also, these locations will offer delivery to the surrounding communities. 

"Driven by the retailer's focus on value and quality, Walmart approached us about a partnership because it recognized Mr Gatti's as a regional favorite with a 55-year legacy of delivering exceptional taste and experiences to our customers," Jim Phillips, CEO of Mr Gatti's Pizza, said in a press release. "We are proud to recognize that Mr Gatti's and Walmart share the same customers, so we believe this is a winning combination to better serve our communities.”

Speaking of food, you’ll have the choice of different pizza varieties (think Buffalo chicken and spinach Alfredo), sandwiches, salads, and Gatti’s bone-in oven-roasted wings.

"By bringing Mr Gatti's beloved menu into our stores, we can provide even more value and convenience for our shoppers, making it easier for families to enjoy a delicious meal. This collaboration not only aligns with our commitment to offering diverse and high-quality options but also supports our goal of creating a one-stop destination for all our customers' needs. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this partnership will have on our communities.”

While the current plan is to open Mr Gatti's Pizza inside Walmart stores in only these four states, there is talk of future locations opening in other states.
