If there is one way to upgrade a salad or dip, it’s to go for a homemade version. This blue cheese dressing is a good example of how easy it can be. With just a few ingredients — buttermilk, sour cream, chives, onion powder, vinegar, and blue cheese — you’ll have a blue cheese dressing or dip ready in five minutes.
Notes from the Food & Wine Test Kitchen
If you don’t have fresh chives, you can swap in a tablespoon of dried chives to use instead of fresh. Apple cider vinegar gives this dip just a touch of tang but any vinegar, such as rice vinegar, white wine vinegar, or white vinegar will work, too.
