These super-quick Brussels sprouts have a hefty amount of garlic that’s softened by a splash of butter and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve this easy side with roasted chicken, seared pork tenderloin or salmon.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and thinly sliced

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned, about 1 minute. Add Brussels sprouts, salt, pepper and crushed red pepper; cook, stirring often, until tender-crisp and still bright green, about 6 minutes.

  2. Stir in butter; remove from heat. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
