Late Harvest

For this muddled-grape cocktail, Karen Fu evokes the flavors of a late-harvest Riesling by combining dry Riesling with elderflower liqueur. Recipe from Food & Wine Cocktails 2015

Ingredients

  • 4 green grapes

  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup

  • 1 1/2 ounces chilled dry Riesling

  • 1/2 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur

  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

  • 3 ice cubes

  • 1 ounce chilled brut Champagne or other dry sparkling wine

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the grapes with the simple syrup. Add the Riesling, St-Germain, lemon juice, and ice. Shake well and fine-strain into a chilled flute. Top with the Champagne.
