Using high-quality, freshly made coffee and pairing it with classy ingredients like Drambuie creates a drink that makes great use of coffee's complex, slightly bitter backbone, without all the sweetness you get from coffee liqueurs.

Drambuie is a blend of aged Scotch, heather honey, and herbs that has a sweet but balanced flavor. The liqueur is often enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a key ingredient in various cocktails. Its unique combination of flavors, including the sweetness of honey and the complexity of the herbs, makes Drambuie a versatile spirit that can be used in both classic and modern drink recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka

  • 1 ounce Drambuie

  • 1 ounce brewed coffee

  • Dash of Angostura bitters

  • 1/4 ounce lemon juice

  • Lemon twist (to garnish)

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine vodka, Drambuie, and 1 ounce of freshly made coffee (you can let it cool first). Add 1/4 ounce of fresh lemon juice and a dash of Angostura bitters. Shake all that up, and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
