Cucumber Cosmopolitan

The bartenders at Great Bay restaurant in Boston make their spin on a Cosmopolitan with Hendrick's, a Scottish gin that's infused with both cucumber and rose petals. The simply made cucumber water adds an extra layer of refreshing cucumber flavor to this cocktail.

Ingredients

Cucumber Water

  • 1/2 medium seedless cucumber

Cosmopolitan

  • Ice

  • 2 ounces gin

  • 1 ounce Cointreau or other triple sec

  • 1 ounce white cranberry juice

  • 1/2 ounce Cucumber Water

  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 cucumber spear

Directions

Make the Cucumber Water

  1. Set a cheesecloth-lined strainer over a bowl. Grate the cucumber into the strainer, then twist and squeeze the cheesecloth to extract as much of the liquid as possible. Transfer to a container, cover, and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Make the Cosmopolitan

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the cucumber spear and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the cucumber spear.
